Richmond, KY - Lindsey Wilson track and field wraps up in Richmond, Ky after competing at the Rick Erdmann Twilight this weekend hosted by Eastern Kentucky University. LWC concluded the meet with at least nine Blue Raiders making the podium in their individual events.
Kelvion Wilson, Edwin Van Wyk, Justin Borden, and Luke Birdsong represented the men's team well as they set a meet record in the 4x100 relay with a time of 41.90 seconds. The record was previously held by Miami University (Ohio) who ran a 43.22.
Van Wyk was one of three Blue Raiders to earn a NAIA "B" standard performance at the Rick Erdmann Twilight after running the 200-meter dash in 21.41 seconds. Austin Campbell was another athlete who secured first in "B" standard fashion after a 15.37 meter toss in the men's shot put. Jozlen Brisbon didn't finish first overall, but topped her NAIA opponents with a standard time of 11.98 seconds in the women's 100-meter dash.
Campbell also made the podium in his two other field events, the hammer and discus throw. He placed third in the hammer throw (48.03m) and took silver in the discus throw (45.31m) with LeAndre Bolen finishing just behind him in fourth place after launching the discus 41.98 meters.
Similar to Campbell, Justin Borden stood on the podium in his two individual events in which he placed second in the long jump (7.08m) and third in the high jump (1.98m), as Golbach followed in fifth place after clearing 1.88 meters.
Marcus Abel left his mark in the 3000 steeplechase placing second and running a time of 10 minutes and 24 seconds.
On the women's side, Meredith Johnson secured a spot on the podium in third after running a 4:49.84 in the 1500-meter run.
Nikki Ravelli returned to dominating the javelin throw and claimed the top spot for the fourth time this year with a 37.11 meter throw. She also tied for seventh in the high jump after clearing 1.42 meters with Luna Senica finishing a few spots behind her as she cleared 1.37 meters.
Malorie Carter represented well in the women's hammer throw as she finished in the top five after slinging the hammer 41.20 meters.
Lindsey Wilson will look ahead to next week as they will compete in the Clark Wood Invitational hosted by the University of Louisville on Friday, April 28th at the Owsley B. Frazier Cardinal Park.
