                     MARION, Ind. – Justin Stearns and 
Nikki Ravelli represented Lindsey Wilson on the opening day of the 2024 NAIA men's and women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at Indiana Wesleyan on Wednesday.
Stearns took the track during the afternoon for the 1,500-meter run and place eighth in his heat and 13th overall in the field of 23 runners. The junior crossed the finish line with a time of 3:54.36, the second-fastest time of his career for the event. Unfortunately, Stearns narrowly missed the cut for the event final by .47 seconds.
Ravelli took part in the day's final event, placing 11th in the javelin toss with a distance of 41.31 meters. Her career-best effort helped her improve 13 positions from her overall finish at the 2023 national championships.
Day two of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships begins at 9 a.m. CST on Thursday. Blue Raider long jumper

Mark Edmond are slated to compete at 1:30 p.m. CST, then 
Eliza Hagens and 
Jace Cowman step up for the 5,000-meter racewalk at 3:45 and 4:15 p.m. CST, respectively.
