COLUMBIA, Ky. - The (RV) Lindsey Wilson men's wrestling team travels to No. 10 Campbellsville (Ky.) on Friday at 6 p.m. CT at the Campbellsville Wrestling Facility.
The Blue Raiders enter Friday's dual with a 7-2 overall dual record and are 1-1 in the Mid-South Conference. Lindsey Wilson is looking to bounce back after falling to then-No.24 Cumberland (Tenn.) 31-18 on Wednesday. The Blue Raiders led 10-0 after victories from
Chase Ayers at 125 pounds and
Alex Tabor at 133 pounds. Cumberland then won the next four matches to take control of the dual.
Will George and
Tony Rogers also picked up victories for Lindsey Wilson at 174 and 285 pounds, respectively.
Lindsey Wilson has three wrestlers ranked in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll.
Clarence Lee-Green IV is ranked 14th in the 125-pound class while Ayers is 19th.
Adrian Ayala is 10th at 149 pounds.
Campbellsville is 5-3 in duals this season and are coming off a 2-2 performance at the NWCA National Duals. The Tigers defeated Missouri Valley 28-18 and Doane (Neb.) 24-17 before losing to Life (Ga.) and Southeastern (Fla.). Campbellsville has eight wrestlers ranked in the poll led by Nicholas Yancey who is the top-ranked wrestler at 149 pounds.
Friday's dual is the 21st meeting all-time between the two programs. Each team has won 10 times in the all-time series. The Blue Raiders hold a 5-3 record against the Tigers in Campbellsville. Lindsey Wilson has won three of the last four matchups while Campbellsville took last year's dual 36-11.
