COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson student-athlete
Kirsten de Goede was voted Mid-South Conference women's Swimmer of the Week, league officials announced Monday.
The senior, of Durban, South Africa, earns weekly honors for the first time in her career and is the second Blue Raider women's swimmer to receive the award this season, joining
Natalia Gorska.
In Saturday's dual victory at Asbury (Ky.), de Goede swept the 50, 100, and 200-yard freestyle races with all NAIA provisional standard times – 24.31, 53.62, and 1:56.85. She then closed the meet as the anchor leg in Lindsey Wilson's winning 200-yard freestyle relay.
De Goede's time in the 50 freestyle is actively the fastest timed in the Mid-South Conference this season, while her 100 and 200 times are second-quickest.
Kirsten and her Blue Raider teammates compete next on November 20-22 at the Total Performance Invitational, hosted by Kenyon College (Ohio), in Gambier, Ohio.
