COLUMBIA, Ky. – Following a brief non-conference detour, the Blue Raider softball team resumes Mid-South Conference play this week against Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.).

The defending conference tournament champion Lions enter on a three-game winning streak thanks to a series sweep of Cumberland (Tenn.) on March 28 and 29.

Outfielder Karli Quillin is on a seven-game hitting streak, during which the junior pushed home three runs on a team-high 13 hits. Fellow junior Myleah Hardy has reached base in 10 consecutive games and currently leads Freed-Hardeman with four of the team's five home runs this season.

In the circle, Kylee Brown ranks third in the conference for total strikeouts and fifth for earned-run average. She is also tied for third with Lindsey Wilson's Kayden Murray for wins with seven.

As for Murray, the sophomore rolled through the Blue Raiders' recent non-conference slate with two victories, 19 strikeouts, and zero earned runs allowed in 13.0 innings pitched.

Offensively, Brylee Pickerell and Sam Hartman each lead Lindsey Wilson with seven hits in conference play. Five of Pickerell's hits came with two outs on the board and drove in three runs.

As a team, the Blue Raiders are outhitting opponents this year with two outs 0.264 to 0.250.

Lindsey Wilson and Freed-Hardeman split their regular season series last season in Henderson, Tennessee. Kendall Dailey, Brooklynn Becker, and Natalie Wandrie all produced four hits, while the latter of the three paced the Blue Raiders with five runs batted-in behind two doubles and a home run.

Due to wet field conditions at Marilyn D. Sparks Park, the series will relocate to Green County American Legion Park in Greensburg, Kentucky. Monday will feature a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. CST, followed by a single game at 11 a.m. CST on Tuesday.
