COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team opens play at the ITA NAIA National Team Indoor Championships on Friday at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.

The Blue Raiders earned the No. 2 seed and open the three-day, eight-team tournament against seventh-seeded Georgia Gwinnett at 4:30 p.m. CT. Keiser (Fla.) is the top seed, William Carey (Miss.) is seeded third, Tennessee Wesleyan earned the fourth seed, Loyola (La.) is seeded fifth, Southeastern (Fla.) is the No. 6 seed, and Holy Cross (Ind.) is seeded eighth.

Last season, the Blue Raiders finished third, defeating Xavier (La.) 4-1.  Lindsey Wilson opened its season on January 31 with a 7-0 victory on the road at NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan.

Georgia Gwinnett captured the NAIA National Championship last season, going 16-2. The Grizzlies are 1-1 this season, losing 6-1 to North Georgia on January 30 and defeating Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) 6-1 on Tuesday.

Friday is the 10th all-time meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Grizzlies. Georgia Gwinnett holds a 9-0 record against Lindsey Wilson. The two teams last met in the semifinals of the NAIA National Tournament with the Grizzlies coming away with a 4-0 victory.
