COLUMBIA, Ky. - For the second straight weekend, Lindsey Wilson softball travels south for a busy slate in the Gulf Shores Invitational. The 25th-ranked Blue Raiders went 5-0 in Columbus, Georgia last week to win the NFCA-NAIA Leadoff Classic and will face four new opponents in their latest trip.

At 1:30 p.m. CT on Friday, March 6, Lindsey Wilson takes on Abraham Baldwin (Ga.), immediately followed by No. 16 LSU Alexandria.

The Fillies are a first-time-ever match-up for the Blue Raiders, entering with a 6-8 record and three wins in their last four games. Carter Gore is on an eight-game hit streak as she leads Abraham Baldwin with 13 hits and nine RBIs, while Tess Rollins has pitched three complete-game shutouts.

LSU Alexandria (13-5) comes to Gulf Shores on a seven-game winning streak. Kaetlyn Dunbar and Julia Kwakernaak pace the Generals' offense behind 26 and 23 hits, respectively. Dunbar, for the year, is hitting 0.510 with a team-high 19 RBIs. Nine different pitchers have seen time in the circle, including Lainee Bailey who has six wins in eight starts.

On Saturday, the Blue Raiders wake up early to play Point (Ga.) at 9 a.m. CT and Brenau (Ga.) at 11:15 a.m. CT.

The Skyhawks (6-6) hit 0.254 as a team with freshman outfielder Anna McMahan leading the way on a dozen hits, nine of which have gone for extra bases.

Lindsey Wilson upended the Tigers (6-6) in Columbus last Saturday, 8-7, after trailing 6-0 in the first inning. Designated player Peyton Hawkins recorded a three-run RBI-double for her only hit of the game, and Riley Walker pitched 6.0 innings, gave up 12 hits, walked three, and struck out one.

The Blue Raiders' last game of the weekend comes at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 8 against eighth-ranked Central Methodist (Mo.). The Eagles (9-3) started the year 6-0 before suffering their first loss to No. 1 Southern Oregon on February 21.

Infielders Joely Crider and Elizabeth Palumbo each boast plus-0.500 batting averages and 20 hits. In the circle, Karlie Barnum is 3-0 in four starts with a 2.95 earned run average.
