COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Mayra Gisone has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
 
Gisone, of Santa Fe, Argentina, earns her sixth career weekly honor and fourth this season after going 2-0 in both singles and doubles in wins over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and (RV) Missouri Baptist.  She did not allow a point in both of her top-seeded singles victories. Against Freed-Hardeman, Gisone defeated Suri Gomez 6-0, 6-0,
 
She teamed up with Martina Cortal and outscored their opponents 12-2 at No. 2 doubles. Against Freed-Hardeman, Gisone and Cortal won 6-0 and won 6-2 against Missouri Baptist.
Gisone and the Blue Raiders return to action on Saturday for the Semifinals of the MSC Tournament at 9 a.m. CT at The Warren County Tennis Facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
