BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team hits the road Thursday when the Blue Raiders travel to Barbourville for a non-conference matchup against Union Commonwealth (KY).

Lindsey Wilson enters Thursday's match with a 2-3 overall record after earning a 3-1 victory over Indiana Southeast in its home opener on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders will now look to carry that momentum into Thursday's road matchup.

The Blue Raiders were led offensively by Luisina Sandrone Tais who recorded a team-high 16 kills, while Gabi Zuquelo added 11. Momo Hampton continued to anchor the Lindsey Wilson defense with 25 digs, and the setters Addison Janes and Rachel Kilchenmann together distributed 34 assists.

The Blue Raiders showed their ability to respond throughout the match, overcoming a third-set setback and an 18-17 deficit in the fourth to close out the victory.
 
Thursday's matchup will be the first meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Union Commonwealth since August 24, 2019. The Blue Raiders earned a 3-0 victory in that contest, and Thursday will mark the first time the two teams have met in Barbourville in 11 years.

The Bulldogs went 12-19 in 2025 advancing to Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinals. 

Thursday will also mark the season debut for the Lindsey Wilson junior varsity team, which will take the court for the first time in 2026.

Junior varsity action begins at 3:00 p.m. CT, followed by the varsity match at 5:30 p.m. CT in Barbourville, Kentucky.
