Men's Soccer Falls to AUM 2-1, Ends Season

OLATHE, Kansas -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team's season ended tonight with a 2-1 loss to Auburn University-Montgomery (Ala.) in the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals at the College Boulevard Activity Center.

AUM advances to Monday's national semifinals with the win, while the Blue Raiders end the season with a 19-3-0 record.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Carnell Learmond scored the Blue Raiders only goal of the game in the game's 52nd minute.

AUM's Kari Arsaelsson scored the game's first goal in the 41st minute to give the Senators a 1-0 lead.

Learmond's goal tied the game at 1-1.

A turning point in the mach came in the 56th minute when freshman Bryam Muteshi received his second yellow card to give AUM the one-man advantage.

The Senators' Magnus Olafsson scored the game-winner off a rebound after Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Glen Fox stopped an AUM penalty kick.
AUM faces Concorida (Calif.) University in one of the national semifinals.
