Box Score MOBILE, Ala. -- For the second consecutive year, the Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team's season came to an end at the hands of Auburn University-Montgomery (Ala.).
The Blue Raiders fell in the national semifinals today 5-3 to top-seeded and defending national champion AUM at the Mobile Tennis Center.
AUM advances to the national finals where they will face No. 2-seed Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University at 1 p.m. CDT on Friday.
Lindsey Wilson concludes its season with a 19-5 record.
The Blue Raiders jumped out to a 2-1 lead following doubles play.
Lindsey Wilson sophomores
Fadzai Mawisire and
Natalia Yakimovich won at the No. 1 doubles 8-6, and junior
Candela Castanon and freshman Jessica Weyreuter won at the No. 3 doubles 8-5.
Senior
Zuzana Rakyta-Komendakova helped the Blue Raiders win their lone singles point with a 6-0, 6-1 win over AUM's Rachel Dunlavey at the No. 6 singles.
AUM closed with wins at one, two, four and five singles to advance into the national finals.
