Men's Soccer Wins 1-0 in Closing Minute

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team won a thriller tonight 1-0 over Auburn University Montgomery (Ala.) at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson came out of the gates quickly and put a shot on goal in the 4th minute of the game. After that neither team recorded a shot the entire half.
The game remained tied 0-0 into half.

In the second half Lindsey Wilson became much more aggressive firing ten shots. However, Auburn Montgomery freshman goalkeeper Kile Kennedy was up to the challenge.

Kennedy was tremendous the entire half making seven saves.

Lindsey Wilson freshman goalkeeper Michael Smith would not be outdone. Smith made two game-saving saves in the 65th minute. His only two saves of the game provided to be huge for the Blue Raiders.

Finally, with 51 seconds remaining Lindsey Wilson found the back of the net.

Freshman defender Michael Azira got to a loose ball in the box and rocketed it past Kennedy to give the Blue Raiders their first goal and the 1-0 victory.

Lindsey Wilson has a record of 14-1-1 this season.

The Blue Raiders close out their regular season at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Nov. 4 as they travel to St. Catharine (Ky.) College.
