Women's Soccer Shuts Out Pikeville 9-0

PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Three Blue Raiders scored two goals each as the top ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team shut out Pikeville (Ky.) College, 9-0, Monday in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Lindsey Wilson was dominant on offense, outshooting the Lady Bears 32-0 and posting an 11-5 advantage in corner-kick opportunities.

Sophomore midfielder Ida Gregersen, senior defender Yolanda Hamilton and freshman midfielder Mia Persson each scored two goals for the Blue Raiders.

Persson finished her scoring for the game in just under six minutes.

The Sjobo, Sweden native scored the Blue Raider's second goal in the 11th minute off an assist from Hamilton. Persson struck again in the 17th minute, with Hamilton once again delivering the assist.

Ida Gregersen put Lindsey Wilson in front 3-0 with a goal in the 16th minute, but was quiet the rest of the game until she capped off the night with the Blue Raiders ninth goal in the 84th minute. Both of Gregersen's goals were unassisted.

Hamilton scored an unassisted goal in each half as well.

The St. Thomas, Jamaica native's first score occurred in the 18th minute, ending a four-goal rally achieved within just seven minutes of action. Hamilton scored again in the 76th minute to give Lindsey Wilson an 8-0 lead.

Also netting a goal for the Blue Raiders were freshman forward Rebecca Bjorkvall in the sixth minute, sophomore forward Jennifer Tom in the 50th minute and sophomore midfielder Elisha Fry in the 33rd minute.

Senior Carrie Revlett earned her 12th shutout of the season, while Lady Bear keeper Meagan Johnson finished with six saves.

Lindsey Wilson wrapped up the regular season with a 15-2-1 overall record and 7-0-0 mark in Mid-South Conference play. The Lady Senators close their regular season with a 6-9-2 overall and 1-6-0 MSC record.

Lindsey Wilson hosts postseason play in the MSC Tournament at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 6 against Rio Grande (Ohio) University at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

The Blue Raiders earned the top seed in the field, while Rio Grande is the eighth seed.
