WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team opened the 2009 season with a 6-3 win at University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) yesterday.

Lindsey Wilson won the singles matches 4-2 and went 2-1 in the doubles matches.

Junior Jessica Weyreuter won her match in straight sets (6-0, 6-0). Sophomore Darya Yablonskaya (6-0, 6-1) and junior Agneiszka Wojtowicz (6-0, 6-3) both won in two sets. Freshman Trina Slapeka survived a three set match (4-6, 6-0, 6-2) to get the victory.

In the doubles matches, Slapeka and Weyreuter cruised to an 8-1 victory. Yablonskaya and Wojtowicz won 8-2.
