Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team won its fifth match of the season defeating Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College today 8-1 in Pulaski, Tennessee.
Lindsey Wilson (5-4, 2-0 in the Mid-South Conference) won the singles 5-1 and swept the doubles matches 3-0.
Freshman
Trina Slapeka -- the reigning MSC Player of the Week -- won her match over Anastasia Aleshcheva 6-2, 7-5. Junior
Jessica Weyreuter defeated Mikaela Long in the number two match 6-1, 6-0.
Freshman Vanja Tomic and sophomore Darya Yablonskaya cruised to 6-1, 6-1 victories and junior Agneiszka Wojtowicz won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Freshman Brittany Meece suffered the lone defeat, 0-6, 2-6.
In the doubles matches, Weyreuter and Tomic rolled over Aleshcheva and Takara 8-2 in the number one match. Slapeka and Yablonskaya won 8-1 and Wojtowicz and junior Lindsey Sheene picked up the win 8-2.
This is the third straight win for Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders have not lost in nearly two weeks.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Tuesday, April 21, as the Blue Raiders travel to Brescia (Ky.) University.
