Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team won the Mid-South Conference regular season championship by defeating Georgetown (Ky.) College on Wednesday 8-1 at the Lindsey Wilson Tennis Courts.
Lindsey Wilson (7-4, 3-0 in the Mid-South Conference) won the singles matches 5-1 and the doubles matches 2-1.
Junior Jessica Weyreuter -- the reigning MSC Player of the Week - won her fifth straight singles match over Sarah Yost 6-1, 6-0.
Freshmen Trina Slapeka (6-0, Retired) and Vanja Tomic (6-0, 6-4) along with sophomore Darya Yablonskaya (5-7, 6-3, 6-3) and junior Agneiszka Wojtowicz (6-1, 6-2) all won in two sets.
Junior Lindsey Sheene was the lone singles defeat losing 3-6. 0-6.
In the doubles matches, Weyreuter and Tomic defeated Kerrick and Bartlett 8-0 in the number one match and Slapeka and Yablonskaya rolled 8-3 in the number two match.
Wojtowicz and Sheene suffered an 8-5 defeat.
The Blue Raiders have won five straight matches since starting the season 2-4.
