Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team was swept in the 2009 Blue and Grey Jamboree in Montgomery, Ala. this past week.
On Thursday, Lindsey Wilson (2-4) was swept 5-0 by Armstrong Atlantic State (Ga.) University. Armstrong won both singles matches in two sets and swept the doubles categories.
The next day the Blue Raiders were defeated by the West Florida University 8-1. Freshman Vanja Tomic picked up the only win for Lindsey Wilson winning 6-1, 6-1 in a singles match.
In the final match of the tournament on Saturday Lindsey Wilson was defeated 6-2 by Columbus State (Ga.) University. Columbus State won two doubles matches and won four of the five singles matchups.
Tomic picked up her second win of the tournament in singles play and in doubles play Junior Jessica Weyreuter and Tomic won for the Blue Raiders.
Before the tournament on Wednesday, April 1, Auburn University (Ala.) Montgomery defeated the Blue Raiders 5-0.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 8, against the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at the Blue Raider Tennis Courts.
