COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Four Blue Raiders scored multiple goals as the No. 8-ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team beat visiting Georgetown (Ky.) College 10-0 tonight at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
Lindsey Wilson senior Carnell Learmond added to his Mid-South Conference leading goal total with a hat trick tonight to lead the Blue Raiders to their eighth straight win.
Learmond now has 17 goals on the season -- one shy of the NAIA lead of 18 held by University of Maine at Fort Kent's Andre Anderson.
Learmond opened the game's scoring in the 19th minute off junior Chris Williams' assist. He scored the team's fourth and fifth goals, the latter coming just before halftime.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Orrin Farrell added his fifth and sixth goals of the season -- the last pushed the Blue Raiders (11-1-1, 6-0 in the MSC) into double digits on the night in the 84th minute.
Junior Moses Aduny and freshman Victor Cortez also added a pair of goals each in the win. Aduny raised his season goals scored total to seven, while Cortez netted his second and third goals of the season in the second half.
Sophomore Lebogang Moloto -- the reigning MSC Offensive Player of the Week -- continued his stellar play by adding the final score of the night for the Blue Raiders. It was his sixth goal of the season.
Senior Pedro Caetano and sophomore Greg Hartley combined for the shutout despite not facing a shot during the contest. Lindsey Wilson outshot the Tigers (2-10, 1-3 MSC) 22-0 on the night, including 14-0 in shots on goal.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 23, as the Blue Raiders host No. 2-ranked University of Rio Grande at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
