Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Three of the five Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer players honored on senior night scored goals, while the other played lockdown defense the entire night to help beat St. Catharine (Ky.) College 7-0 on Monday at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
For seniors Caitlin Burke, Katy Gilmour and Samantha Gutierrez and early junior graduates Jennifer Tom and Reiko Yoshida, it was their last game on the home field.
Burke, Gilmour and Tom all scored goals, while Gutierrez led the defense to the shutout with no shots taken all night by the Patriots.
Besides the seniors, including Burke with two goals, the only other goal scorer was freshman Sofie Bloch Jorgensen with the second-half hat trick, scoring three straight goals in the 52nd, 67th and 69th minutes.
Lindsey Wilson got things rolling in a hurry as Burke sent in her first score of the night in the seventh minute off a cross from junior Ida Gregersen and Gilmour scored just seconds later, also in the seventh minute unassisted.
Just like in Saturday's contest against the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) the Blue Raiders scored four goals in each half to secure the blowout win.
Yoshida played the entire first half in goal as the Blue Raider keeper.
Jordan Morrison took over for Yoshida in the second half giving both keepers 45 minutes of action while neither had to wrap up a save.
The Blue Raiders led in shots 27-0 and corner kicks 5-0.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, Oct. 31 in the final game of the 2010 regular season at Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College.
