COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Sometimes it just takes one, as the seventh ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team proved against Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College with a 1-0 win at Walter S. Reuling Stadium on Friday.
Orrin Farrell scored the game winner in the 19th minute on a short strike from deep inside the box.
Neither team had any good chances the rest of the way allowing Farrell's goal to stick as the winning score.
Lindsey Wilson outshot Martin Methodist 14-3 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner-kick opportunities.
Martin's James Colman made two saves while allowing the lone goal. Greg Hartley played in goal for the Blue Raiders all game making a save with no goals against.
With the win, Lindsey Wilson improves to 13-2-1, while Martin Methodist dropped to 6-5-2.
The win closes out the regular season for Lindsey Wilson which will advance to host a first-round game of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
The opponent and time and date of the game will be available on the Lindsey Wilson site when it is announced by the conference office.
