Box Score GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The 15th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team evened its record at 4-4 with a 6-3 win against Georgetown (Ky.) College on Tuesday in the Mid-South Conference opener at the Lackey Tennis Center.
The Tigers drop to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in the MSC after losing their fifth straight match.
Lindsey Wilson started off strong, winning two of three doubles matches. The No. 1 pair of Trina Slapeka and Jessica Weyreuter won their match 8-4, while Slavica Milanovic and Agnieszka Wojtowicz won their No. 2 doubles match 8-4 as well.
The winning ways continued for the Blue Raiders through the top three singles' seeds. Slapeka defeated Adrienne Bartlett 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 and Weyreuter routed Claire Spradlin 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Milanovic was a winner at No. 3 singles 6-3, 6-2, while Pacifico registered the deciding win for Lindsey Wilson 6-3, 6-1 over Haleigh Fellows at No. 5.
The Blue Raiders have won three matches in a row after topping Xavier (La.) University 5-0 and Huntingdon (Ala.) College 7-2 on March 14 at the Auburn University-Montgomery Tournament.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on March 25 at Brescia (Ky.) University.
