Box Score MARS HILL, N.C. -- The 15th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team blanked Mars Hill (N.C.) College 9-0 on Thursday, winning every match in straight sets to record its eighth straight win.
Doubles play was never in doubt for the Blue Raiders, winning the No. 1 match 8-2, No. 2 8-1 and wrapping up doubles play with an 8-0 shutout at the third seed.
Singles didn't dare much better for Mars Hill as Trina Slapeka opened with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the top seed against Erika Pinate, while Jessica Weyreuter took care of Patricia LaRovere 6-1, 6-1 at No.2 singles.
Slavica Milanovic tamed Ona Jane at No.3 singles 6-0, 6-1 and Agnieska Wojtowicz topped Paola Aybar at the fourth seed 6-1, 6-0. Fifth and sixth singles were both 6-0, 6-0 straight-set wins as Marina Pacifico beat Jordan Dockery at No. 5 and Ashley Phillips topped Miranda Reasoner.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 17 against Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College at the Lindsey Wilson Tennis Courts.
