Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Missed opportunities led to third ranked Lee (Tenn.) University handing the sixth ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team its third straight home loss 2-0 on Friday night at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
Junior Elisha Fry had a kick smack the cross bar in the first hald and junior Diana Da Rocha's shot sailed high as she found herself uncovered near the goal.
Add in a free-kick goal by Lee's Clair Lanter in the 71st minute and an open goal from the box by Ode Fulutudilo and the Lady Flames walked out of the stadium with the shutout win.
Lady Flame keeper Kristi Koudelka recorded the shutout making three saves on the night, while Lindsey Wilson junior keeper Jordan Morrison allowed both goals while making three saves.
Lindsey Wilson led in shots 15-9 and corner kicks 6-1. The physical game, played mostly in a driving rain, saw Lee have the advantage in fouls 14-9.
Fulutudilo was the recipient of a rebound just three minutes into the second half, which she drilled into the back of the net uncovered. Lee's second goal was a luckier strike, as Lanter drove the ball from nearly 40 yards out on a free kick that sailed into goal, just out of reach of Morrison.
Lindsey Wilson drops to 5-4-0 overall, while Lee improves to 9-2-0 with the win.
The Blue Raiders return to action at 5 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Sept. 28 against the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
