Box Score LENANON, Tenn. -- The 13th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team gave away four team points due to forfeits, but had just enough fire power left to beat Cumberland (Tenn.) University 5-4 on Tuesday.
Senior Trina Slapeka earned a win at the top singles' position over Cumberland's Larissa Miura 6-1, 6-1 before teaming with sophomore Slavica Milanovic for an 8-1 win in doubles' play as well.
Milanovic was also a winner in singles for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Courtney Schaub at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Laura Vergara earned the Blue Raiders' third singles' point with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Anita Raiz at third singles.
Vergara and sophomore Edel Ferri helped break up the 4-4 tie after all of the forfeits with an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles for the Blue Raiders over Amber Johnson and Raiz.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Friday, March 4 against Tennessee Wesleyan University at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex in Columbia, Ky.
