PULASKI, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team struggled on Saturday as the Blue Raiders dropped a 7-2 decision at Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College.

The No. 16-ranked Blue Raiders (4-3) managed to win just one singles and one doubles match en route to the loss. No. 22-ranked Martin Methodist improves to 5-4 on the season with the win.

The RedHawks grabbed an early 2-1 lead after winning two of the three doubles matches. The lone Blue Raider doubles win came as Laura Vergara and Edel Ferri won 8-6 at No. 2 doubles over Anastacia Aleshcheva and Mikaela Long.

In singles play, Vergara won the only Lindsey Wilson point with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Martin Methodist's Maria Charrys 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

Martin Methodist won the remainder of the singles matches in straight sets.
