Box Score ST. CATHARINE, Ky. -- Through three games, Lindsey Wilson College freshman Michelle Madsen had not scored a goal, but that all changed at St. Catharine (Ky.) University on Saturday as she netted three goals to push women's soccer past the Patriots 6-0.
The Blue Raiders scored three goals in each half of the Mid-South Conference opener to improve to 3-0-1 overall and 1-0-0 in the MSC. St. Catharine drops to 1-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in MSC play.
It didn't take long for Lindsey Wilson to get on the board as sophomore Elizabet Madjarac scored her second goal of the season in the first minute of the game off an assist by senior Diana Da Rocha.
Six minutes later, junior Mia Persson received a pass from senior Ida Gregersen to net the second score of the game in the eighth minute, followed by a 14th minute score by Madsen off another Gregersen assist.
After the break Michaelsen scored the first goal of the second half in the 11th minute off an assist from sophomore Sabrina Tom. Twenty-five minutes passed before the next action on the scoreboard as Madsen struck twice in back-to-back fashion.
The Lemvig, Denmark native struck for a goal in both the 36th and 38th minutes to five Lindsey Wilson its final 6-0 advantage.
After the goals scored against the Patriots, Michaelsen and Madsen, both freshmen, lead the Blue Raiders in goals scored so far this season with three each.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action at 4 p.m. CT on Thursday, Sept. 15 against seventh ranked William Carey (Miss.) University in Cleveland, Tenn.
