Lindsey Wilson Men's Soccer Wins NAIA Game of the Week 3-0 over AUM

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson College used a pair of goals by junior Lebogang Moloto to beat host and No. 25-ranked Auburn University Montgomery 3-0 on Saturday at the AUM Soccer Complex.

The Blue Raiders (4-0) recorded their fourth straight shutout to open the 2011 season in the NAIA Men's Soccer Game of the Week.

Moloto helped the Blue Raiders grab an early 1-0 lead in the game's 13th minute as the he netted his second goal of the season off a free kick.

While Lindsey Wilson had additional scoring chances in the first half -- the Blue Raiders outshot AUM 7-3 in the opening half -- Warhawk sophomore goalkeeper Vignir Johannesson kept the game at 1-0 entering halftime. Johannesson finished the match with eight saves.

Moloto wasted little time in the second half doubling up the Lindsey Wilson lead with his second goal of the afternoon in the 48th minute to give the Blue Raiders the 2-0 lead.

Lindsey Wilson freshman Phillip Sandergren added his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 75th minute to give the Blue Raiders a 3-0 lead and eventually the win.

Lindsey Wilson freshman goalkeeper Yuta Nomura -- the two-time reigning Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week -- extended his shutout streak to 360 minutes while stopping three AUM shots in the match.

The Blue Raiders concluded the afternoon with a 14-9 shots advantage over AUM (2-3-1), including 11-3 in shots on-goal.

Lindsey Wilson improves to 12-5-3 all-time against the Warhawks.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Sept. 21, as they travel to University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky. AUM is back in action at 3:30 p.m. CT on Friday, Sept. 23, when it hosts Truett-McConnell in its Southern States Athletic Conference opener.
