Box Score

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Pikeville (Ky.) didn't win a game through doubles or the first four singles matches as No. 14 Lindsey Wilson College dominated the Bears for a quick 9-0 win on Saturday at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.

Blue Raider head coach Daniel Finn was impressed with the way his team came out ready to start the season undefeated in Mid-South Conference play.

"We really came out today and took care of business," said Finn, who saw his team even its overall record at 2-2 after opening the season against three straight NCAA opponents.

A week earlier, Lindsey Wilson suffered a close 5-4 loss against Western Kentucky, but today there was no chance of a repeat.

The Blue Raiders tallied a 3-0 leader after doubles as all three seeds won their match 8-0.

In singles, Slavica Milanovic got things started on the right foot with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Shae Criswell and Trina Slapeka clinched the match with the fifth point in a 6-0, 6-0 win against No. 1 seed Arantia Lopez Garcia.

Diana Gerlakh was a 6-0, 6-0 winner against Danielle Clark at No. 2 and Laura Vergara also posted a shutout 6-0, 6-0 win against Hayley Kincaid at No. 4.

Pikeville (0-1) won its first games of the day at No. 5 as Anna Gaprindashvili topped Andrea Tobar 6-0, 6-2 and Rocio Cardo closed out the match at No. 6, beating Hayley Isaac 6-0, 6-1.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Monday at Tennessee Wesleyan in Athens, Tenn.
