Box Score ATHENS, Tenn. -- The No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's team did not drop a set en route to a 9-0 sweep of host Tennessee Wesleyan College today.
The Blue Raiders (3-2) recorded their second straight 9-0 win. Lindsey Wilson beat University of Pikeville 9-0 on Saturday at home in its Mid-South Conference opener.
Today, the Blue Raiders seized control from the beginning winning all three double points with relative ease.
Lindsey Wilson's Anna Gaprindashvili and Rocio Cardo opened the match with an 8-0 win over Britten Friedrich and Spencer Creekmore to take a 1-0 lead. Top-seeded Trina Slapeka and Slavica Milanovic quickly followed with an 8-2 win over Beatriz Signori and Zola Enhkbat.
In the final doubles match, Diana Gerlakh and Laura Vergara beat Laura Spellacy and Kristin Camp by a score of 8-5 to take a commanding 3-0 lead.
In the singles matches, Milanovic claimed the forth Blue Raider point of the day with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Spellacy. Gerlakh provided Lindsey Wilson with the decisive points with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Enhkbat to claim the team win.
The remaining four matches continued as the Blue Raiders lost just four total games in the en route to the 9-0 win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 29 as the Blue Raiders host Georgetown College at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
