Box Score PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team remained perfect in the Mid-South Conference today with an 8-1 win over host Shawnee State (Ohio) University.
The No. 14-ranked Blue Raiders (5-2, 4-0 in the MSC) won all three doubles points and five of the six singles matches to win their fourth straight match of the season.
Lindsey Wilson dropped just one game during the three doubles matches.
Trina Slapeka and Slavica Milanovic beat Jamee Boyd and Kyra Keeton 8-0 in the top doubles match while Anna Gaprindashvili and Rocio Cardo provided an identical outcome in the second-seeded match with an 8-0 win over Ashley O'Neill and Ashley Fischer.
Diana Gerlakh and Katie Koper surrendered just one game in their 8-1 win over Jennifer Hoag and Shelbie Wulfekamp in the No. 3 doubles match to take the 3-0 lead.
It did not take long for the Blue Raiders to secure the team win as Slapeka, Gerlakh and Cardo each won by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
With the match in hand, Milanovic handed O'Neill a 6-0, 6-1 loss and Gaprindashvili beat Fischer by the same score.
The lone Shawnee State point came at No. 6 singles as Wulfekamp beat Koper 6-1, 6-2 to close the match at 8-1.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Monday, March 12, as the Blue Raiders travel to Southern Indiana University in Evansville, Ind.
