Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- There was too much firepower for No. 22 Campbellsville (Ky.) to contend with as the 14th-ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team shut it out 9-0 on Wednesday at the Coca-Cola Tennis Courts in Campbellsville.
The matchup between Mid-South Conference rivals both ranked in the NAIA Top-25 went completely in the Blue Raiders' favor as they won every match in straight sets.
Lindsey Wilson started the day off with a 3-0 advantage after doubles action.
Top-seeded duo Trina Slapeka and Slavica Milanovic beat Anna Tumanyan and Aspen Edwards 8-3 and No. 2 seed Diana Gerlakh and Laura Vergara took care of Megan Charity and Jenna Sallee 8-5.
Third-seeded duo Anna Gaprindashvili and Rocio Cardo topped Lindy Charity and Stacey Drew by the same 8-5 score.
Milanovic upped the lead to 4-0 after she finished first in singles at the No. 3 seed, beating Lindy Charity 6-2, 6-1, then the top-seeded Slapeka put the match away with her 7-5, 6-0 win against Tumanyan.
Gerlakh outlasted Megan Charity at the second seed for a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 win while Vergara topped Sallee 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4.
The Blue Raiders cruised at the final two spots as Gaprindashvili beat Edwards 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 and Cardo was a 6-2, 6-1 winner against Kristen Hamrick to round out the match.
Lindsey Wilson – winners of six straight – return to action at 1 p.m. CT on March 17 against No. 18 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
