BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team defeated Bluefield (Va.) College to secure the Mid-South Conference regular-season title and No. 1 overall seed in the Mid-South Conference Tournament.

Lindsey Wilson (13-2-2, 8-0-1) got the scoring started in the 15th minute on an unassisted goal by Aleksi Pahkasalo.

The Blue Raiders continued to pound the Ram defense and were finally able to find the back of the net in the 43rd minute on a Keletso Mosime goal assisted by Tom Moody to give Lindsey Wilson a 2-0 lead right before halftime.

Bluefield (8-9-1, 3-6-0) had an opportunity to cut the lead in half in the 47th minute after the Rams were awarded a penalty kick, but Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Christoffer Gatara made the save to preserve the 2-0 lead.

Less than two minutes later, Lindsey Wilson was awarded a penalty kick of their own and Moody put it away to give the Blue Raiders a 3-0 lead.

The Rams were finally able to get on the scoreboard in the 66th minute on a goal by Michael Callaghan.

Lindsey Wilson was able to add one more goal in the 87th minute by Pahkasalo on an assist by Yazeed Davids.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Nov. 9 for the Mid-South Conference Tournament. The game time and opponent are still to be determined.
