COLUMBIA, Ky. -- It was a pair of easy wins today for the Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.

The No. 4-ranked Blue Raiders swept UVa.-Wise 9-0 for their first Mid-South Conference win of the season and closed the day with a shortened 6-0 win over Brescia (Ky.).

This morning, all three Lindsey Wilson (2-1, 1-0 MSC) doubles teams won by 8-0 scores to take a 3-0 early lead.

Lindsey Wilson did not let up in the singles play.

Alejandra Gavis started the singles rout with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles over Megan Buchanan. Top-seeded Slavica Milanovic beat Brianna Stallard 6-1, 6-0 to secure the fifth point of the day for the Blue Raiders and the team win.

Laura Vergara, Sarah Bernos Ana Gaprindashvili and Diana Gerlakh each won their singles matches in straight sets to close out the sweep.

In the Bresica win, Lindsey Wilson used the same blueprint as it used against Wise.

The Blue Raiders won all three doubles points and followed with the top three singles wins in the shortened match.

Lindsey Wilson dropped just four games in the six matches to win their second match of the day.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 28 as the Blue Raiders face MSC foe Bluefield (Va.) in Georgetown, Ky.
