MURRAY, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team dropped its 2013 season opener today 5-2 at NCAA Division I Murray State (Ky.).

The No. 4-ranked Blue Raiders opened the matches by capturing the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Under NCAA rules one point is awarded for winning the majority of the doubles matches.

Lindsey Wilson's Laura Vergara and Rocio Cardo won at No. 2 doubles while Alejandrea Gavis and Anna Gaprindashvili won at No. 3 doubles to secure the point.

Diana Gerlakh won the only Blue Raider singles match in the six-spot with an 8-6 super-set win. The match used a super-set after the overall match had been decided following four straight wins from the Racers' top-four singles players.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Feb. 23 as the Blue Raiders host UVa.-Wise at Noon CT and Brescia (Ky.) at 4 p.m. CT at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
