COLUMBIA, Ky. – There was little trouble for the fifth-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team on Wednesday, dropping just one match in an 8-1 win against Georgetown (Ky.) in Mid-South Conference play at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.

The Blue Raiders had a 3-0 advantage after doubles play, although the Tigers made things interesting at the No. 3 seed.

Seventh-ranked pair Laura Vergara and Rocio Cardo needed an extra game to beat Kaitlyn Thompson and Emily Krick 9-7, while top-seeded and 19th-ranked Slavica Milanovic and Sarah Bernos beat Haley Hart and Alyssa Kennedy easily 8-1.

The doubles sweep was wrapped up at No. 2 as Alejandra Galvis and Anna Gaprindashvili won 8-4 against Kaelin Roberts and Jacqueline Otis.

Georgetown (8-3, 2-1 MSC) found its lone win of the day at No. 4 singles where Kelly Swanson beat Bernos 6-1, 6-4.

While Lindsey Wilson went 5-0 in the rest of the matches, it was once again challenged at the No. 2 seed where the 23rd-ranked Galvis needed a tie-breaker in the second set to top Roberts 6-2, 7-6 (4).

Milanovic, ranked 20th in the NAIA, cruised at the top seed with a 6-1, 6-2 win against Hart, No. 35 Vergara topped Otis 6-4, 6-0 to record the decisive fifth point at the third seed and Gaprindashvili won easily against Natalie Hill 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.

Diana Gerlakh finished off the match for the Blue Raiders at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Shelby Eden. Both Eden and Hill played just singles for the Tigers.
