Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – No. 1 Lindsey Wilson women's soccer lost 2-1 to visiting NCAA Division II Lee (Tenn.) University on Thursday, September 26 at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
The Blue Raiders held the advantage in shots in the first half 4-1, however an own goal in the 30th minute gave the Flames a 1-0 lead.
Lindsey Wilson's Renee Hurd did not wait long to get that goal back as she took a pass down the sideline past the Lee defenders and kicked it past the Flames goalkeeper to tie the score at 1-1 less than 90 seconds later.
The Blue Raiders held a 7-5 advantage on corner kicks, but it was Lee who capitalized on one in the 87th minute. Debbie Rogers crossed it into the six-yard box and Danielle Ciabattone kicked it in off the post to make it 2-1.
Johanna Henrikson made three saves for the Blue Raiders in the loss. Carola Schneider finished the game with two shots on goal, while Anna Vig recorded one shot in the game.
Lindsey Wilson travels to Shawnee State (Ohio) University for a 1 p.m. CT kickoff on September 28 .
