Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – No. 3 ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team hosted Tennessee Wesleyan at Walter S. Reuling Stadium on Saturday night and came away with a 3-0 victory.
The Blue Raiders (2-1-1) were held scoreless for 79 minutes, but broke the tie on a cross from Elijah Ukpong to Keletso Mosime who tapped it in for a 1-0 lead.
Bastien Montagnon had a chance to score in the 27th minute, however the shot went high. Less than a minute later, Albert Edward's shot went wide of the net.
Blue Raider goalkeeper Christoffer Gatara went to make a sliding save at the top of the 18 yard box and collided with Travis Langhorne. Langhorne received a red card for the hard slide on Gatara which left Gatara with a gash on his forehead.
Yuta Nomura replaced Gatara in net as Gatara was taken immediately off the field by the training staff.
Renan Sarafim got a pass from Yazeed Davids inside the 18 yard box and nailed it into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead in the 86th minute. Less than two minutes later the Blue Raiders struck again on an unassisted goal by Xavier Baumgart to make it 3-0.
Lindsey Wilson held the advantage in corner kicks 12-0 and finished with six shots on goal. Gatara made one save.
Tennessee Wesleyan (1-3-0) finished with just one shot on goal.
The Blue Raiders host Davenport (Mich.) University on September 12 at 7 p.m. CT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium .
