The Blue Raiders fell behind early after Austin Peay State (2-6) swept the majority of doubles matchups to win the solo doubles point.
Jessica King and Diana Gerlakh fell 8-5 to Hannah Tatlock and Jovana Karac at the No. 3 doubles, followed by Sarah Bernos and Alejandra Galvis falling 8-6 at the No. 1 position to secure the solo point for the Governors.
Vanessa Tavares defeated Bernos 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 3 singles to give Austin Peay State a 2-0 lead. The Blue Raiders got on the scoreboard after Galvis defeated Andra Cornea 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 position to make it 2-1.
Ornella Di Salvo defeated Alicia Rodriguez at the 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2 singles to give the Governors a 3-1 lead. The Blue Raiders answered when King defeated Karac at the No. 4 position 6-3, 6-3 to cut the lead to 3-2.
Austin Peay State clinched the match at the No. 5 singles when Tatlock defeated Anna Gaprindashvili 6-2, 6-1, giving the Governors a 4-2 lead with just one singles matchup in action. Ana Helena Pinto defeated Isabela Jovanovic 8-7 (7-4) at the No. 6 singles, bringing the final score to 4-3 in favor of Austin Peay State.
The Blue Raiders return to action when they open Mid-South Conference play at Georgetown (Ky.) on March 7 at 2 p.m. CT.
