Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The fourth-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team swept No. 22 Campbellsville in a 9-0 effort Saturday evening at the Kenny Hall Tennis Complex.
Lindsey Wilson (3-3, 2-0 MSC) jumped out to an early 3-0 after capturing all three points from the doubles matches.
Alejandra Galvis and Sarah Bernos opened the day with an 8-2 win over Anna Tumanyan and Haley Dallas at the No. 1 doubles position. Anna Gaprindashvili and Alicia Rodriguez then defeated Megan Charity and Gleidys Salazar 8-4 at the No. 2 position followed by Jessica King and Ana Helena Pinto defeating Jenna Sallee and Lindy Charity 8-5 at the No. 3 position to secure the final doubles point.
The Blue Raiders carried the momentum into the singles matches where Galvis took down Tumanyan 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles for the 4-0 lead.
Bernos defeated Charity 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 2 singles to claim the crucial fifth point and mathematically seal the win.
Rodriguez won 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 3 position and Gaprindashvili won 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 5 singles. Pinto won at the No. 6 position 6-2, 6-0 and King completed the sweep with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the No. 4 singles for the 9-0 win.
Campbellsville falls to 7-3 on the year and 3-1 in the Mid-South Conference.
The Blue Raiders return to action when they face Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in Louisville, Ky., on March 29.
