Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- No. 2 Lindsey Wilson women's tennis defeated Cumberland (Tenn.) University 9-0 on Wednesday at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
Lindsey Wilson (9-4, 6-0 MSC) swept the doubles matches 3-0 as Alejandra Galvis and Alicia Rodriguez defeated Angelica Sepulveda and Franki Jecker 8-6 to give the Blue Raiders a 1-0 lead. Galvis and Rodriguez are now 4-0 when playing the No. 2 doubles spot.
The No. 1 doubles team of Sarah Bernos and Anna Gaprindashvili won 8-4 over Alena Gizdic and Antea Dedic to take a 2-0 lead. Bernos and Gaprindashvili are now 5-0 in doubles matches this season. Jessica King and Ana Helena Pinto took the third point as they won by default.
In the singles competition, No. 5 singles player Pinto won 6-0, 6-0 over Tais Lacerda Bezerra. Pinto is now 11-1 overall on the season.
At No. 2 singles 21st-ranked Rodriguez defeated Gizdic 6-1, 6-0 to secure Lindsey Wilson's sixth Mid-South Conference win on the season. Rodriguez moves to 10-3 on the season.
19th-ranked Galvis, playing at No. 1 singles, won 6-1, 6-4 over over 32nd-ranked Sepulveda. Galvis records her seventh win of the season at No. 1 singles as she moves to 7-2.
King beat Dedic 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. King moves to 3-0 when playing the No. 3 singles position.
Gaprindashvili beat Jecker 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 singles. Gaprindashvili is now 9-4 in singles competitions this season.
The Blue Raiders received a point at No. 6 singles as Diana Gerlakh won by default.
Lindsey Wilson moves to 87-28 in doubles and singles matches on the season.
The Blue Raiders return to the court on Thursday, April 10 as they travel to Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College for 2:30 p.m. CT first serve.
