No. 3 Men's Soccer Prevails, 2-1, at Tennessee Wesleyan

ATHENS, Tenn. – The No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team won, 2-1, at Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday evening.

Playing away from their home field for the first time this fall, the Blue Raiders (4-0-0) remained undefeated thanks to Tom Moody's penalty kick in the 25th minute which broke a 1-1 tie.

To start the scoring, Lindsey Wilson went ahead by a 1-0 margin less than three minutes into the match as Aleksi Pahkasalo tallied an unassisted goal at the 2:31 mark.

The Bulldogs (1-2-1) knotted the contest up, 1-1, on Nduka Kemjika's penalty kick in the 23rd minute. The score marked the first goal that the Blue Raiders have allowed this season.

Two minutes later, Moody's successful penalty kick proved to the decisive goal as the Blue Raider defense held the Tennessee Wesleyan attack scoreless for the final 60-plus minutes of play.

Dalyan Hawes earned the victory between the posts for Lindsey Wilson, making a pair of saves. Bogachan Akyildiz took the loss for the Bulldogs and also stopped two shots.

Overall the Blue Raiders held a 14-to-3 advantage in shots.

Next on tap for Lindsey Wilson is a home match against Campbellsville (Ky.) on Tuesday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
