Box Score

PULASKI, Tenn. – The No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team defeated Martin Methodist (Tenn.) with a 9-0 sweep on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Raiders (4-6) did not drop a single set en route to the clean sweep of the RedHawks (1-11). Lindsey Wilson has now won all four of their matches against NAIA competition this season by a 9-0 score, the six losses on the year coming against NCAA institutions.

After a forfeit at the No. 3 doubles put the Blue Raiders ahead 1-0, Lindsey Wilson quickly made it 3-0 as both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches were won 8-2.

Alicia Rodriguez and Jessica King won at the top position over Gema Bolado Yusta and Brenda Rique, while Henar Munoz and Fiona Curty completed the doubles sweep with their win over Victoria Ryjak and Laura Ariza.

Another forfeit in singles play made it a 4-0 lead, and Rodriguez captured the crucial fifth point with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 2 singles position.

Munoz, Anna Gaprindashvili, Curty and King each cruised to straight set victories in the remaining matches to complete the sweep. Gaprindashvili did not surrender a single point in her 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 5 singles position.
