PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The No. 4 Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team won its Mid-South Conference opener at Pikeville (Ky.), 9-0, on Monday afternoon at Bob Amos Park.

The Blue Raiders (5-6, 1-0 MSC) dropped only 10 games the entire day en route to their third-consecutive victory. Lindsey Wilson began the afternoon with a 3-0 lead as the host Bears (0-2, 0-2 MSC) forfeited a doubles point as well as a pair of singles matches.

In the No. 2 doubles draw, Anna Gaprindashvili and Ana Helena Pinto paired up to defeat Olivia Holbrook and Marine Kenel, 8-0. Fiona Curty and Henar Munoz earned an 8-1 victory in the top flight over Thais Bezerra and Macarena Acuna to clinch the match with a 5-0 lead.

During singles play, Munoz bested Bezerra at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0, while Curty defeated Kenel, 6-2, 6-0, in the third flight. Gaprindashvili swept past Holbrook, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 4 singles, and Alicia Rodriguez topped Acuna in the top position, 6-4, 6-1, to close out play.
