Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team claimed their fourth-consecutive Mid-South Conference regular-season title with a 9-0 win over Cumberlands on Saturday.
The Blue Raiders conclude MSC play with a perfect 7-0 record and are now 13-6 overall on the season, winning their previous 11 matches. Lindsey Wilson has now won five-straight matches by 9-0 margins.
Cumberlands falls to 7-9 on the year and 4-2 in conference play with the loss.
Lindsey Wilson began the day by sweeping all three doubles point for the early 3-0 lead.
Fiona Curty and Jessica King won the first match of the day in an 8-5 effort at the No. 2 doubles position over Chanel Williams and Sydni Grimes. Alicia Rodriguez and Ana Helena Pinto followed shortly after with an 8-2 win at the No. 3 doubles flight over Haley Owens and Marie Bozeman. Henar Munoz and Anna Gaprindashvili completed the sweep at the top doubles flight with an 8-6 win over Erin Hart and Isabella Dale.
Curty captured the fourth point with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 3 singles position over Grimes. King, who ranks 44th in the ITA individual standings, secured the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 4 singles flight, giving the Blue Raiders a 5-0 lead with four matches remaining.
Third-ranked Rodriguez at the No. 2 position, Gaprindashvili at No. 5 and Pinto at No. 6 all added straight set wins on the day. Lindsey Wilson made it a perfect day after Munoz defeated 49th-ranked Dale 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 at the top singles flight, bringing the score to 9-0.
