Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis did not drop a game in a 9-0 sweep of visiting St. Catharine (Ky.) today at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
With the win, the Blue Raiders (10-6, 6-0 in the Mid-South Conference) clinch at least a share of the MSC regular season title with just one conference match remaining this season. Lindsey Wilson travels to Cumberlands (Ky.) on April 11 to close out the conference regular season.
Lindsey Wilson -- who ran its winning streak to a season-high eight straight -- clinched all three doubles points with 8-0 wins.
Fiona Curty and Henar Munoz ran their season doubles record to 9-2 on the season while Alicia Rodriguez and Ana Helena Pinto moved to 2-0 on the season as a doubles pair. Jessica King and Anna Gaprindashvili claimed the final doubles point of the game while teaming for the first time this season.
King and Gaprindashvili secured the team win with 6-0, 6-0 wins in the fourth and fifth singles matches respectively. With her win, Gaprindashvili won her eighth straight match.
Munoz and Pinto also extended their lengthy winning streaks today. Munoz now has 10 straight wins while Pinto is up to nine straight.
St. Catharine falls to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in the MSC with today's loss.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 7, as the Blue Raiders host Marian (Ind.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
