Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 4 Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team swept visiting Marian (Ind.), 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders improved to 11-6, while the Knights go to 15-6.
Lindsey Wilson sprinted out to an early 3-0 lead by claiming all three doubles draws.
Alicia Rodriguez and Ana Helena Pinto paired up to top Emily Bueno and Colleen Yager by an 8-2 margin in the third flight. In the top doubles match, Anna Gaprindashvili and Jessica King teamed to prevail over Anna Potter and Audrey Rang, 8-6. To close out the Blue Raiders' doubles sweep, Fiona Curty and Henar Munoz defeated Hannah Elliott and Grace Neathery in the second-seeded draw, 8-4.
Later on in singles play, Munoz bested Rang in the top flight, 6-2, 6-0. Rodriguez – No. 3 in the ITA NAIA singles rankings – topped Neathery in the second-seeded singles match, 6-1, 6-1. In the third singles flight, Curty defeated Potter, 6-2, 6-1.
King – slotted at No. 44 in the ITA NAIA singles rankings – swept past Elliott, 6-0, 6-0, in the fourth-seeded draw. Gaprindashvili bested Yager in the fifth singles flight, 6-1, 6-1, while Pinto topped Paige Swan in the sixth-seeded draw, 6-1, 6-0.
