Men's Soccer opens postseason play with 13-0 win over Shawnee State

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Top-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's soccer cruised into the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinals with a 13-0 win over eighth-seeded Shawnee State (Ohio) today in the tournament quarterfinals at Joe Hood Field.

The No. 7-ranked Blue Raiders (12-2) face the winner of fourth-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) and fifth-seeded Life (Ga.) at 9:30 a.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 9 in the first of two semifinal matches.

Tyler Collishaw and Andres Riquelme each recorded hat tricks while Mutaya Mwape and Karim Jouini each added two goals in the win. Franck Bikoya and Israel Reyna each chipped in a goal while the final goal came via an own goal.

The Blue Raiders dominated the ball, outshooting the Bears (2-17) 40-4, including 25-3 in shots on goal.

Collishaw scored the first of his three goals in the 17th minute followed by two goals from Riquelme in the 26th minute. His two tallies came 27 seconds apart.

Mwape scored his two goals around the own goal in the 33rd and 40th minutes to give Lindsey Wilson a 6-0 halftime lead.

The Blue Raiders were just as effective offensively in the second frame with seven more goals for the baker's dozen.

The 13 goals are a season high and the second double-digit output of the season.

William Diaz earned the shutout, collecting three saves.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action next Thursday in the tournament semifinals at Joe Hood Field.
