Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – The second-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team extended its winning streak to nine games and remains perfect against NAIA competition with a 7-0 victory against Bethel (Tenn.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders improve to 13-4 on the season with today's win. The Wildcats fall to 1-11 on the season.
After a forfeit at the third-seeded doubles match gave the Blue Raiders their first point, Alex Shchipakina and Natalia Kattah defeated Shelby Kennedy and Allison Smarsh 8-0 in the second-seeded doubles match. The Lindsey Wilson duo improves to 7-0 on the season.
Minja Gligic and Jovana Peric secured the doubles sweep with an 8-1 victory in the top-seeded doubles flight against Marcela Cordeiro and Rosselle Dorero. The Blue Raider pair improves to 5-2 this season.
Peric got the first singles point with a straight-set victory 6-0, 6-0 against Kennedy in the third-seeded singles match. Giligic -- ranked No. 16 in NAIA singles defeated Dorero in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 in the seconded-seeded doubles flight.
Shchipakina – ranked No. 12 in NAIA singles defeated Cordeiro 6-4. 6-1 in the top-seeded doubles match and Gabriella Pedroza got the final point over Smarsh in the fourth-seeded doubles flight 6-0, 6-1.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Sunday for two Mid-South Conference matches against Shawnee State (Ohio) and Cumberlands (Ky.). The match against Shawnee State is scheduled for 10 a.m. CT and the match against Cumberlands is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. CT at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
