Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Second-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis defeated its seventh ranked foe of the season in today's 6-3 win over visiting Cumberlands (Ky.) at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders remain unbeaten against NAIA competition this season en route to improving to 15-4 overall and 4-0 in the Mid-South Conference with the win.
Lindsey Wilson picked up two wins in doubles play and won four of the six singles matches during the match.
Alex Shchipakina and Natalia Kattah and Jovana Peric and Minja Gligic each recorded 8-2 wins for the Blue Raiders.
Shchipakina and Kattah remain unbeaten on the season with a win over Denee Lyttle and Luka Lyttle in the third-seeded doubles match. The Blue Raider pair is now 9-0 this season as a team.
Peric and Gligic won their sixth straight and for the seventh time in nine matches this season in their win over Maria Ochoa and Hannah Wampler in the second-seeded match.
No. 20-ranked Cumberlands (10-7, 3-1) got on the board in the top-seeded match. Isabella Dale and Jaclyn Jewell defeated Maria Prados Cid and Fiona Curty 8-5 to trim the Blue Raiders' lead to 2-1.
Peric made quick work of the first completed singles match to give Lindsey Wilson a 3-1 lead. She dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jewell in the third-seeded singles match. Peric has won 10 straight this season and is 13-1 overall in singles play.
Gligic -- ranked No. 16 in the NAIA -- also recorded a straight-sets win to give the Blue Raiders a 4-1 lead. Gligic defeated Ochoa 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 2 singles match to move to 13-4 this season.
Dale secured her second win of the day, winning 7-5, 6-4 over Shchipakina in a battle of ranked foes. Dale is ranked sixth while Shchipakina is No. 12 in the NAIA.
Prados Cid gave the Blue Raiders the team win in the fourth-seeded match. She won her team-best 12th straight match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Denee Lyttle to put Lindsey Wilson up 5-2. Prados Cid is 12-1 this season.
Kattah won her match over Luka Lyttle 6-4, 6-0 while Marian Bogajo defeated Gabriella Pedroza 8-6 in a superset to close out the match.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 4, as the Blue Raiders travel to Cumberland (Tenn.) in Lebanon, Tennessee.
