Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis won each match today in a 9-0 win of visiting Cumberlands (Ky.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The match -- which was played as a non-conference tilt -- marked the second win this season for the Blue Raiders (3-2) over Cumberlands. Lindsey Wilson won 8-1 on March 9 in Williamsburg in this season's conference match with the Patriots (5-7).
Lindsey Wison dropped just two games in the first two doubles matches to take a 2-0 lead over the Patriots.
Lucia Mora Diaz and Lina Sachica Ramos defeated Luka Lyttle and Denee Lyttle 8-2 in the third-seeded match and Fiona Curty and Chiara Epifani quickly followed with an 8-0 win over Hannah Wampler and Haley Mahan in the second-seeded match for the early lead.
Sixth-ranked Minja Gligic and Jovana Peric made it a clean sweep in doubles, defeating Tomomi Nagao and Jaclyn Jewell 8-5 in the top-seeded match for the 3-0 lead.
Peric and Curty won in straight sets in the second and third-seeded singles matches to give Lindsey Wilson the necessary five points to claim the team match.
Peric handed Jewell a 6-3, 6-0 loss while Curty defeated Luka Lyttle 6-3, 6-1 to push the lead to 5-0.
Ramos, Diaz, and Gabriella Pedroza each won in straight sets in their respective matches while Gligic went the distance Nagao in a 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 (3) win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 3, as the Blue Raiders host No. 11 Campbellsville (Ky.) at Baughman Tennis Complex.
